Greensboro
At exit 218
is the northern terminus of the new I-73 segment which follows the last
segment of I-74 just to end (contrary to the Interstate rules!) just
north of the little town of Emery. No where near a coast of another
Interstate. This is a handy shortcut to I-85 southbound if you happen to
be going that way.
At exit 219 you make the big merge with I-85 – probably the
busiest truck route in the U.S.A. I-40 and I-85 share the same roadbed
from here to just before Durham. And I-40 now will be using the I-85
exit numbers. Greensboro is full of historic sites (and about everything
else, of course).

For the Bicentennial Garden: continue on Holden and the garden is on your left just past the park.

There is a turn-off to Holden before Holden but if you miss it you can still turn right at Holden Road. When you pass Friendly Avenue start watching for the
