We promised we would concentrate on the attractions most folks don't hear
about when visiting California. Here is one that is almost a well kept
secret: the
Lawrence Hall of Science.
If you have kids any where between pre-school and high school age you just
have to make this a required visit. Part of the UC
Berkeley campus, the mission of this fabulous place is to develop improved
programs for teaching science and mathematics. This place is full of
hands-on stuff that kids just love (and adults, too, if they would admit
it) - and they learn a lot while playing with the various gadgets.

Believe
it or not, this place has been around for almost 40 years but is as modern
today as if it had just opened its doors. If you would like a
preview of what you and the kids will see here, get on-line at:
kidslab
and pull up some of
their on-line games. They also have a schedule of upcoming events on their
site. Then arrange your schedule for a very worth while visit.
